Pyramid Schemes
When I was 15 I found this website that offered a seemingly amazing deal of 15 CDs for 99 cents each. All you had to do was sign up for a membership and get 15 other people to do so, too. So I sent out an e-mail to 15 of my friends, that probably read something like this: "Hey guyz! sign up 4 this cooool thing and get 15 CDs!!!! for only 15 dollars!!! thankx! lyl xoxo!"
Well, as embarrassing as that is, the 15 people never signed up, because in order for them to get the deal, they had to get 15 people to sign up, and those 15 people had to get 15 more people to sign up....
Ultimately, I ended up having to pay over $100 for all these CDs including, at the end of my top 15 list, the Spice Girls' "Best Of" album.But I gained a life lesson.
