Free Summer Concerts
It's summertime...but is the livin' easy? It's hard to have a fun summer when you're worried about having enough money to spend. This is my problem, and I have a feeling I'm not the only one.
Most cities have free concerts in the summertime, with all the fun and none of the money. Here's a few ideas:
New York City's Central Park Summerstage: The outdoor venue in Central Park is home to good scenery and concerts this summer featuring artists such as 311, Ziggy Marley, Matisyahu, Umphree's MgGee, The Pretenders, and The Walkmen, just to name a few.
San Diego's Spreckels Park hosts the Coronado Summer Concerts-in-the-Park with a variety of performers all summer long, into September.
DC's Fort Dupont Summer Theater hosts free jazz concerts every Saturday at 8 pm.
Boston's Waterfront Park in Newburyport has free concerts Fridays from 6:00-7:30 pm through the month of July.
The Downtown Business Improvement Disctrict in Denver holds free concerts every Friday at noon from July to August.
